Invitation to the Kings’ Road Program – 9 October 2025

We warmly invite you and your family to the special historical event “Kings’ Road” in Esztergom!
Step back into the Middle Ages, discover the life of the castle folk, meet knights and noble ladies, and enjoy the festive banquet and music.

The event is free of charge — everyone is welcome!

October 9 – Esztergom – The Kings’ Road
Venue: Castle Museum of Esztergom
• 14:00 – Life of the Castle – Merchants, craftsmen, musicians, knights and noble ladies bring history alive. Medieval camp kitchen prepares the feast.
• 16:00 – A Noble Guest Arrives – A knight with his armed men lodges at the king.
• 17:00 – The King’s Prayer – Latin vespers in the royal chapel.
• 18:00 – Lords and Commoners – Banquet reconstruction and courtyard festivity with drummers and pipers.

October 10 – Zsámbék – VII. Fékomadta Festival
Venue: Monastery Garden
• 15:00 – Pitching the Tents
• 16:00 – Interactive Camp – Historical reenactment groups up close.
• 18:00 – The Kings’ Road Arrival – Reception of the long-distance historic hike (Visegrád–Esztergom–Zsámbék).
• 19:00 – FANDYR Concert + Barbar Wine Bar Tasting

• 10:00 – People of the Villages – Interactive Árpád-era village with craftsmen.
• 11:00 – Medieval Fair – Drummers, pipers, medieval kitchen, duels.
• 13:00 – Life on the Manor – Historical games & military drills.
• 14:00 – Bridge Combat Competition
• 15:00 – Masters’ Hour – Craftsmen’s workshops.
• 16:00 – Music Workshop
• 17:00 – Siege – Historical large-scale battle.
• 18:00 – Zsámbék Bestiary – Torchlight parade with monsters, giants, fire jugglers.
