Esztergom’s Unknown Hero – Simon Ispán, the Spaniard
On 20 August 2026, the MNM Esztergom Castle Museum welcomes visitors to a special historical programme dedicated to Simon Ispán, a person of Spanish origin who played an important role in the history of Esztergom.
The programme begins at 2:00 PM with a presentation by the historical reenactment association Els Cavallers de la Conquesta. At 3:00 PM, a statue unveiling ceremony will be held in the White Tower in memory of Simon Ispán.
The museum and the programme are free to visit on 20 August 2026.
