Museum opening hours

Between 1 November – 31 March 10AM — 4 PM

Between 1 April – 31 October 10 AM — 6 PM

Mondays Closed

The exhibitions of the Museum can be visited individually in the opening hours if you wear the arm-band that you get when you purchase your ticket. We would ask our dear guests, who, by the strength of the law, can visit the Museum for free, please purchase the arm-band in the ticket office with proof of your permission!   Please be aware, that you can purchase your ticket and claim your arm-band in the ticket office not later than half an hour before closing time. Original stairs, close rooms and low-built gateways are in the exhibiting rooms of the Museum, so in the course of the visit please pay increased attention to your and the other visitor’s safety.

The Museum can be visited on your own risk!  

Unfortunately, by wheel-chair or by baby carriage/pram only a small part of the Museum can be visited, the complete tour is not accessible. In the area of the Museum no dogs and other animals are allowed!

Taking Photos: In the area of the Museum taking photos is allowed- WITHOUT FLASH – and video recording is free of charge– except in the Royal Chapel! Taking photos or recording a video in the Royal Chapel is absolutely FORBIDDEN!

Ticket Prices from 1st. January 2022:

Ticket prices for the permanent exhibitions of the Museum

Full price: 2500 HUF/person

Concessional* price: 1250 HUF/person

*Elderly Adult (between 62 years of age-70 years of age)/ concession family adult (one/two adult/close relatives, who accompanying at least 2 people under 18 years of age)/ Youth (between 6 years of age -26 years of age), for Hungarians and for any citizen of the European Economic Area (EEA). Free admission: – Children under 6 years of age – Adults above 70 years of age – Disabled, accompanied by a maximum of one caretaker – With professional admission card/pass issued by EMMI – member of a professional society (with at least 400 members) of a public cultural institution – Teachers working in state education system (with teacher certificate, for Hungarians and EEA citizens) – On the last Sunday of the month, youth under 26 years of age, and one/two visitors are accompanying a close relative who is under 18 years of age  (for Hungarians and EEA citizens) – On public holidays (15th March, 20th August, 23rd October) all visitors It is required to prove the permission for the concessions!

Guided tours: Please give us notice of your claim to a guided tour at least 2 workdays before your arrival by completing the form that can be found HERE. After we receive your form we will contact you shortly.   If you need help in connection with the booking, please contact us on: +36-70/503-9664 or kapcsolat@mnmvarmuzeuma.hu .  If our colleague can not answer your call, please call her later, or wait for her to call you back.   Without booking please inquire about the guided tour in the ticket office – on the day you arrive – but in this case we can not guarantee the guided tour!

Prices of the guided tour: Guided tour in Hungarian: 1-10 People:  7.500 HUF/group Guided tour in English/Slovakian language: 1-10 People: 12.000 HUF/group To purchase the entrance ticket is necessary in the case of attending a guided tour (full price: 2500 HUF/person, concessional price: 1250 HUF/person, over 70 years of age: free) Guided tour in Hungarian: 11-25 People:  12.000 HUF/group Guided tour in English/Slovakian language: 11-25 People: 18.000 HUF/group To purchase the entrance ticket is necessary in the case of attending a guided tour (full price: 2500 HUF/person, concessional price: 1250 HUF/person, over 70 years of age: free) In case of bigger groups (over 25 people) – because of the capacity of the Royal Palace’s smaller sized rooms – the group will be divided. Thank you for your understanding!

Groups arriving with own guide: We give the possibility for guided tours with your own guide. 1-10 people: the members of the group and the guide as well have to purchase the entrance tickets. 11-50 people: the members of the group need to purchase the normal priced tickets, and need to pay the guidance service fee, which is 7500 HUF/group. In this case the guidance service fee include the entrance ticket of the guide. For those guides, tourist agencies and turism suppliers, who are planning to bring organised groups into the Castle constantly, we offer more favorable conditions within the scope of a co-operation agreement.
